#007 - Hesitate
Title: Hesitate
Series: Bleach

In all of his years as Ise Nanao's taichou, he had never once seen her hesistate so badly on entering her offices in the Eighth Division before now. A darker part of him wondered what she remembered from last night, and he was filled with a sense of dread as to what her actions would be if she did remember what had transpired between the two of them.
He knew Ise too well, knew that she was filled with a sense of trepidation, fear, and perhaps, shame.
He knew that she would be especially confused that her famously indolent taicho was present well before his time-honoured traditional entrance at 11AM.
Indeed, if it wasn't for what had happened last night, and his cursed inability to stop analysing every little detail of those moments, he might be asleep at this point, having left Ise's bedside not two hours earlier. He was too much of a coward to stay, and help comfort her in her deep confusion.
And so now he hesitated, knowing Nanao was just around the corner, and moving towards his office, and his cowardice won the brief struggle, courage not even putting up a fight, and fled. Only the slight rustle of papers on his desk, disturbed by his shunpo, left any clue to his flight.
